To drill a hole in bathroom tile, use a very sharp masonry bit, a block of wood with a pre-drilled hole for support and a spray bottle to keep the bit and the tile cool, which prevents cracking and splintering. Drill into ceramic tile, the finish being the hardest part to drill through, with advice from a licensed remodeling contractor in this free video on home maintenance.

    you can also get an actual carbide tip for drilling tile. these bits are amazing, it takes 2 seconds to drill straight through and you dont need any water.
    i use them a lot for installing bathroom accessories.
