  The only adjustment is pedal height, the adjustment the Haynes manual describes. That doesn’t affect the feel, only the pedal height (point where the clutch engages and disengages). It sounds like the feel of the clutch is what is bothering you.

  The top suspect is the hydraulic linkage. The most common failures are leaks, and you can check for those by looking closely or wiping with a clean paper towel around the inside of the firewall where the clutch push-rod comes through to attach to the clutch pedal, and look under the rubber boot of the slave cylinder on the transmission (where the bleed nipple is). Clear oily fluid in either location is a positive sign that cylinder has to be replaced.

  If those are okay, pull back the boot on the slave cylinder and watch as a helper steadily depresses the clutch. If the movement of the slave cylinder does not match the movement of the pedal the master cylinder must have a valving problem. If it does match the clutch itself is being weird.
